One problem we had today was getting the swimmers in the water (programing the motor to push the people in the water. We solved this by asking another group to help us. Are group worked really well because we had no fights and we got right to work.

Book Club

Hey everybody-

In my Language Arts class we are doing book clubs! In my group we are reading Rules By: Cynthia Lord. This book is about a girl named Catherine who is trying to help her brother David to survive school. This book is really good so far and I hope that you can have a chance to read it!

R&E8 - Opinion

If I gave this book a 1 through 10, 1 being the worst and 10 being the best, I would give this a 8.5. I loved how the author but pages from Natalie's story in the book so when they were commenting or changing stuff you knew what they were talking about. Also I liked this book because it was very descriptive and it made me want to finish the book. I hope you read this book and enjoy it as much as I did!

R&E8 - Summery

For my R&E, I read the book The School Story By: Andrew Clements. This book is about Natalie when she is trying to publish a book that she wrote. Natalie's best friend, Zoe, is sure that the novel that Natalie has written is good enough to be published. Natalie's mother is an editor for a big children's publisher, but Natalie doesn't want to ask for any favors. But how can a 12 year old girl publish a book? R&E7- Opinion

If I had to give this series a 1 through 10 on 1 being the worst and 10 being the best, I would give this series a 9 out of 10.  I really enjoyed this series because it was funny and I liked how they used diary format.  For example, on the starting of each day it would say Monday or Tuesday which really made the series more interesting.  Also I liked how it made me want to read more and get to the next book of the series.

R&E7- Summery

For my R&E I read the series Diary of a Wimpy Kid By: Jeff Kinney.  This series is about a boy named Greg Heffley and his family.  Greg's mom told him that he had to write a diary about his summer.  Greg did not like the whole idea about having to write a diary, so he thought of it as being a journal.  He could not be caught dead carrying around a diary in middle school.  His mom still thought of the journal being a diary so he said he would not be writing "Dear Diary" this or "Dear Diary" that.  Also he thinks that his journal will be good when he is rich and famous and all these reporters ask him questions about his childhood, he could just hand them the book and say "read it."

R&E6-Opinion

My opinion on The Spiderwick Chronicles is that if you like scary or mystery books then you would love this series! The series has a lot of action and I couldn't put the book down. I would give this book a 10 out of 10 all the way. I hope you get to read this series and enjoy it as much as I did!

R&E6-Summery

For my R&E I read The Spiderwick Chronicles, By: Tony Diterlizzi  and Holly Black. This book is about a boy named Jared Grace and his family, Simon, his twin brother, Mallory, his older sister, and his mom, Helen. The Grace family move to there Great Aunt Lucinda's abandon house because there mom got a new job far away from there house.  Jared does not want to move away from there old town. Jared's parents got divorced and Jared has not got over it yet, he loved his dad and now he his stuck with is mom and his brother and sister. When there mom went to go to the store for dinner, Jared heard something moving in the wall so he told his brother and sister, they thought he was crazy and they did not believe him one bit. So Jared decided to poke holes in the wall to try and catch or see what was in the wall. Mallory tells him to stop poking holes in the wall, but then she "accidentally" hits the wall as almost the whole wall falls down. In the wall there was a ton of stuff including... To hear what was in the wall, read The Spiderwick Chronicles.

What I'm Reading Now!!

Right now i am reading a book called Lily B. On The Brink Of Cool By: Elisabeth Cody Kimmel! I would give this book a 9 out of 10 so far because i like how the author wrote the book as a diary and the book has very good decription!

For my R&E I read the Samantha: A American Girl Series By: Susan S. Adler, Maxine Rose Schur, and Valerie Tripp.

This book is about a girl named Samantha Partington who lives with her rich Grandmary, Hawkins, who is there butler and driver, Mrs. Hawkins, who is there cook, Elsa, who is there maid, and Jessie, who is there seamstress. A girl named Nellie and her family moved in next store to Samantha to work for the owner as maids. Nellie and Samantha become very good friends. One day, Samantha was looking in a store window and saw a very beautiful doll. So Samantha ran home and begged her Grandmary for the doll and Grandmarry got it for her. Samantha gives the doll to Nellie so that she could always remember her.

In my opinion, I strongly recommend this book to people. It was outstanding and if I could give it a score from 1-10, I would give it a 10! I hope you read this book and I hope you enjoy it as much as i did!!
